Edna  Makokha lives  in  the  Village  with  her  elderly  and  unemployed  grandparents.  Her  mother  has  passed  away  and  the  whereabouts  of  her  father  are  unknown.  Edna  is  5  years  old  and  in  the  Middle  Class  of  the  ECD.

Faith Chepkorir lives with the family of Simon, the caretaker of Star of Hope. Her parents are alive but don’t live together. She is 5 years old and in the Middle class of ECD. 

Martin Papa lives in the Village with an Uncle. His parents dies of alcoholism and drug abuse in the slums of Nairobi. He was brought to Star of Hope by his Uncle when the remains of the parents were brought for burial in the Village. He is 5 years old and in the Middle Class of ECD.

Ruben Opalala lives in the Village with Grandparents. His mother has passed away and the whereabouts of his father are unknown. He is 5 years old and in the Middle Class of ECD. 

David Wepukhulu lives in the Village with his mother who does menial jobs to survive. His sister, Yvonne is also a Star of Hope ‘Star’. The whereabouts of his father is unknown. He is 5 years old and in the Top Class of ECD. 

Elaine Nangekhe lives in the Village with her elderly grandmother who use to do casual labor at Star of Hope. She was abandoned by her teenage mum when she was just a few months old. The whereabouts of her mum and dad are unknown. She is 6 years old and in Top class of ECD.

Bryan Dismus lives in the Village with his grandparents. Both of his parents died when he was quite young. He is 6 years old and in the Top Class of ECD.  

Ochi Jeremiah lives in the Village with Grandparents. His parents died from HIV/AIDS. He is 5 years old and in the Middle Class of ECD.  

Spenzio Barasa is living in the Village with ageing grandparents. Her mother has passed away and her father left the area in search of employment. Spenzio is in the Top Class of the ECD.

Bernard Muchungi lives in the Village with an Uncle. His parents died from alcoholism and HIV. His Uncle came to his rescue when he learned that Bernard was living with aging grandparents who couldn’t support him. He is 8 years old and in the Top Class of ECD.
